Kube Systems Helps Marriott Hotels Attracts Millenials and Tech Saavy Travelers With Wireless Charging
If you find yourself staying in a Marriott hotel, you may encounter wireless charging in the lobby. The lodging outfit has installed Qi-equipped tech from Kube Systems in the greatroom lobbies of many of their hotels. Stations can power up to six devices at the same time while replenishing that smartphone and tablet duo without a tether.
Support for iOS, Android and Windows is included, so you’ll be able to leave those cords in the room when heading down for a drink at the bar. Of course, Marriott has 500 hotels around the world, so this is likely to be a trial before widespread deployment.
“We teamed with IDT because of the company’s expertise and experience bringing this type of innovative technology to consumers,” said Dave Weinstein, vice president at Kube Systems. “As a result, thousands of Marriott customers have first-adopter access to the convenience of wireless charging.”
“Before Kube Systems chose IDT as the provider of its wireless charging chips, we had to demonstrate we have the technology and know-how to ensure their success,” said Arman Naghavi, vice president and general manager, Analog and Power Division. “After 12 months of working closely to develop the product, the sleek Kube Systems stations are testament to IDT’s ongoing leadership in wireless charging.”
