One startup’s idea for the Super Bowl 50 hotel room crunch: portable rooms
When the National Football League’s week-long Super Bowl party hits the San Francisco 49ers’ new Levi’s Stadium next year, it’s going to put a tight squeeze on the region’s hotel rooms, which are already in high demand.
But one Texas startup says it has a solution: portable hotel rooms. Houston-based Rollick Hotels is in the process of funding the production of its Dwell units — pop-up hotel rooms designed by portable unit maker G-pod.
The units are made out of an expandable shipping container, complete with full showers and toilets, mini-kitchens, refrigerators, televisions, and king-sized beds.
